I recently attended Ireland’s first Wordpress Wordcamp in Kilkenny. It was a great weekend, with a large number of geeks in attendance, myself included. I got a great insight to Wordpress, the best way to go about blogging and some cool WP Plug-ins. On the Saturday night, there was a gathering in the hotel for all the bloggers, and it was great craic.
Few Points from the day:
Before your website used to be the centre of online marketing with your blog, facebook & youtube as complimentary components. However now the blog is at the centre & your website, Facebook, Youtube & forums are complimentary.
This is because:
you work on 3 levels of interaction
1) website: gives you an online presence
2) Blog,fcbk & youtube: gives you social media power(create,share,comment)
3) Interaction in forums: gives you the online reputation
